When man      
enters woman,  
like the surf biting the shore,     
again and again,       
and the woman opens her mouth with pleasure   
and her teeth gleam  
like the alphabet,      
Logos appears milking a star,     
and the man     
inside of woman
ties a knot
so that they will
never again be separate    
and the woman
climbs into a flower
and swallows its stem
and Logos appears
and unleashes their rivers.

This man,
this woman
with their double hunger,
have tried to reach through
the curtain of God
and briefly they have,
though God
in His perversity
unties the knot.

Quand un homme
pénètre une femme
comme la vague qui mord la rive,
encore et encore,
que la bouche de la femme s’entrouvre de plaisir
que ses dents brillent
tel l’alphabet,
le Logos semble traire une étoile,
et l’homme
au-dedans de la femme
noue un nœud
pour que plus jamais
tous deux ne se séparent
et la femme se fait fleur
et ravale sa tige
et le Logos apparaît
et déchaîne leurs fleuves.

Cet homme
cette femme
et leur désir duplice
ont tenté de franchir
la courtine de Dieu,
un court instant ils y sont parvenus,
même si par la suite Dieu
dans Sa perversion
dénoue le nœud.
